Hi Alison,

I saw your comment and thought I would reply. It is difficult to "break" into the Clinical business as an entry level CRA. In today's market, you are competing with those who actually have the experience you are seeking, so from a competition standpoint, it is tough.

If you are open to starting as a Clinical Trial Assistant or even a Document Control person, that may help a lot.

The other option I would provide to you is to seek out positions with companies who are known for hiring entry level individuals and training them with their own proprietary methods. The companies who are best known for this practice include Quintiles, PPD, and PRA International. The pay won't be great at first, but after a couple of years you will be able to be significantly more competitive for those coveted clinical positions.

Thank you for your comments and best of luck in your career search,
Kim

Hi Angela,
I'm still trying to break into the industry as an entry level CRA though I have 5 years background in clinical trials. I've found that in some places, that the description of what a "CRA" is can vary in the industry. I've found this out during several interviews. I really look forward to gaining more insight on how I can get the tools to make things happen for me here and I'm also hoping to get the CRA position that I've been wanting.
Thank you!
